Rollercoaster Christian Life

Christ-one,
Are you living like this?

You feel like God is dissatisfied with you.
Your spiritual life is a Rollercoaster.
You keep trying to do better.
Each time, you think this is the one that will work.
Soon you’re right back where you were.
Or worse?

Get off that treadmill!
Stop chasing spiritual fulfillment.
There is no program of behaviors that will take you to a higher plain.

It’s not about having more faith, or being more dedicated, or practicing disciplines more diligently.

It’s about trust.
It’s about living a dependent life.
It’s about letting God do what only He can do.

How do you “let” God do something?
Let means “not prevent.”

So, relax.
Don’t resist Him.
Ride out the rough days.
Exult in the better ones.
Just assume He is doing whatever it is that needs to be done in you.

Trust that Jesus meant what He said when He talked about His easy yoke and light burden. When He said He is the Vine and you are the branches. When He said that apart from Him you can do nothing.

Enter into His rest.

How?
Simply take Him at His word that He has given you a new loving heart and that because you are in Him you will bear fruit. Fruit of the Spirit. Depend on Him to make it so.

The work is finished.
Walk as though this were true.
Not to make it true, but because it is true.
