Salvation before Christ

Those who lived before Jesus came could not know Him. Even so, like us they were saved by believing God. Their faith in God and His promises was the faith that resulted in their salvation.

Hebrews 11 lists many examples of those whose faith in God exemplifies this. We’re also told in Genesis, and several other places, that “Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

Salvation has always been by the Grace of God through faith.

Jesus said, “I and the Father are one.”
He also said, “If you have seen me, you have seen the Father.”

Believing God is believing on Jesus.
Believing on Jesus is believing God.
