Bushels of Blessings

We are in Christ, and therefore, we have all the spiritual blessings found in Him—which is all of them. These are given in “heavenly places”, or the heavenly realm. Reading this might cause us to imagine that these wonderful blessings will be ours only after we slip the surly bonds of earth and traverse the veil separating this life from the Life beyond. We can be confident that is not the case however.

Scripture teaches us that we have been made new (see 2 Corinthians 5:17) and that our lives are hidden with Christ in God (see Colossians 3:3). It tells us that we are now one spirit with Him (see 1 Corinthians 6:17). We’re told that we live in Him and He lives in us (see John 17:23) and that the Kingdom of God is right here with us now. This is the way Jesus put it, “And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” (Luke 17:20–21, KJV 1900)

The Kingdom of God is within us. We carry in our being the heavenly realm. Is there more and better to come? Certainly yes. The Revelation and many other passages tell us this in the clearest terms. Nevertheless, we have been blessed. We are being blessed. We will be blessed.
