Why we Pray

Why we Pray

At 3am one night I was obsessively thinking about a problem I could not solve. I cried to Father that I couldn’t do it and I didn’t know what to do.

His Voice said, “have you tried asking me about it?”

I sheepishly admitted that I had not.

As I lay in my bed, feeling childish for not having thought to talk to Him, I gave the problem to Him. I told Him that I would see this as His problem and that if it were to be resolved, it was up to Him. If it were not resolved, the fallout would be in His hands too. Come what may, I would rely on Him.

I quickly fell asleep, and the next day, the problem was resolved through a series of events I could never have imagined. Through prayer, I got to participate in His plans for me to grow in grace and my knowledge of Him.

I was humbled, filled with joy, I got to know Him better, and my faith grew.

This is why we pray.
