Two Natures?
Two Natures
If we have two natures, what died here:
Romans 6:6 “knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin;” (NASB 2020)
If we have two natures, what was it that got crucified here:
Galatians 2:20 “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” (NASB 2020)
If we have two natures, what was circumcised here:
Colossians 2:11 “and in Him you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body (GK: soma) of the flesh (GK: sarx) by the circumcision of Christ” (NASB 2020)
If we have two natures, what passed away here:
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (NASB 2020)
Saints, we have one nature.
We are partakers of the divine nature:
2 Peter 1:4 “Through these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world on account of lust.” (NASB 2020)
We are one spirit with God:
1 Corinthians 6:17 “But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” (NASB 2020)
God’s seed remains in us:
1 John 3:9 “No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed (GK: sperma) remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God.” (NASB 2020)
