The Fruit of the Spirit

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, Self-control.

You can't produce it. You can only bear it; like the branch of an apple tree bears apples that are produced by the root. This is the reason it's called the fruit of the Spirit, and not the fruit of the believer.

As you grow spiritually, you will notice these things increasing in you.

No matter how hard you try to make that happen, it will still happen at the pace it's supposed to happen.

Don't get me wrong, you can set your mind on Jesus, set it on things above and not on earthly things. That brings transformation because it renews your mind to the Truth who lives within you. The Truth into which the Holy Spirit within you is guiding you.

The Truth that sets you free indeed.

But the growth is caused by the Root, not by the branch. You are not the Root. You are a branch.
