God Gets You

When you feel like

no one understands what you're going through,

no one sees how hard it can be to walk by faith,

no one realizes how difficult it is to resist temptation,

no one knows your pain.

Remember that your God came to earth in Jesus Christ, a human person, born of a woman. Rather than coming arrayed in glory, He came as a helpless infant, totally dependent on His mom. Jesus experienced real human life without taking advantage of the fact that He was God.

He did this so that He could

learn what you go through,

learn what it is like to walk by faith when sight screams for you to run in the other direction,

learn how difficult it is to resist temptation,

learn the pain of earthly life.

This experience allows Him to show genuine mercy. It allows Him to comfort you when you are tempted. It allows Him to identify with your pain. (see Hebrews 2:14-18)

That's the way of grace. A God who becomes a creature so that He can perfectly guide and comfort those He loves.
