Victory Over the Flesh

Victory Over the Flesh

Paul wrote that the power of sin is the law.

In my own experience I find that the moment I begin to set my mind on not doing something, I begin to obsess about that thing. It captivates my thinking and I fall to the fleshly temptation it presents. See, I’ve set up a law that says “I really need to stop doing that” and it has given power to the flesh in drawing me to do it.

I want to encourage you to relax and keep your mind set on “things above.” That means looking at things from an eternal/spiritual perspective. Considering things from the perspective of our citizenship in the Kingdom of Light and from the perspective of our Life in Christ Jesus.

Over time, this renews our minds so that fleshly worldly things exert a greatly reduced gravitational pull than they did before. Real change happens as a result. It comes by the power of the Spirit. It happens from the inside out.

There is no law driving it.

Only trust.
Only dependence.
Only reliance.
Only rest.

Grace and peace to you.
Larry
