Why Jesus is Called the Word of God

1) He is the Message and the Messenger of God “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe.” (Hebrews 1:1–2, NIV)

2) God spoke into existence all that is. Jesus is that creative Voice. “Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” (John 1:3 NIV)

“He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him.” (John 1:10 NIV)

3) It is by seeing/knowing Jesus that we can see/know God. “If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”” (John 14:7 NIV)
