You are That Free

You are That Free

Jesus Christ has made you free.

You are so free that Paul had to address with the Corinthian church the idea that everything is permissible. (see 1 Corinthians 10:23) Even though we are free to do as we please, not everything we could choose is good, righteous and godly.

Our new soft hearts truly desire to do things that build others up. We desire to bear one another's burdens. We want to help others along on this journey of life. God is at work in us ensuring that. (see Philippians 2:13)

It's a good thing this is true because we all stumble in many ways.
We all face hardships.
We all face situations with which we do not deal well.
We all behave poorly and act in ungodly ways now and again.

In Galatians 6:1-2 we find a great way to express Christ to those around us.
We may see someone who is struggling, behaving poorly, or burdened too heavily.
We can help them bear their burden.
We can talk with them and remind them of who Father says they are.
We can help them face their struggle free from guilt and shame.

In restoring them gently, by coming alongside of them to bear their burdens, we fulfill the law of liberty. We fulfill the law of love as Paul said in Romans 13:8–10 “Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for the one who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the Law. For this, “YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, “YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.” (NASB 2020)

Look out for one another.
Look after one another.
It's a great way to love one another.
