Let it Happen
Let it Happen
"Let" is a verb that means: “not prevent or forbid”; “allow.”
Anything that can be allowed or prevented must be available. For example:
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you..." (John 14:27) and "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts..." (Colossians 3:15)
Jesus has given us peace. Because that peace is already within us we are able to let, or allow, that peace to operate in us rather than having a troubled heart.
Philippians 4:5 says, "Let your moderation (or Gentleness) be evident to all." And “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control” Galatians 5:22-23 (CSB)
We have Gentleness and unless we prevent or forbid it, that gentleness will naturally be expressed to others.
"Let the word of God dwell in you richly..." says Colossians 3:16.
1 John 2:24 prompts us to Let that abide in us which we have heard from the beginning. And John 14:26 Jesus said, “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.” (CSB)
His word is given to us through the Scriptures, but it is also given to us in a more personal way by His Spirit within us. The Spirit guides us into all truth, and God's word is truth. (John 16:13 & 17:17)
Unless we quench the Spirit, the word dwells in us and is expressed through godly wisdom and expressions of His truth that are tailor fit to the needs before us.
That's the way of grace. As we simply rest in His finished work, we yield to Him, we let Him lead, we allow His life and love to be expressed through us.
