Evil and Calamity

Father will not always remove you from difficult circumstances. He will not prevent the evil of the world from impacting you. The Lord Jesus told us to expect to be hated and to expect trouble here in the valley of the shadow of death. That’s all part of the plan.

Though we may wish it otherwise, the fallen world serves His purpose. The trauma, frustration, and impermanence of it serve to call those wandering, lost, and deceived by the enemy to their one True Home. This delay in the return of the King and Father’s continuing permission of all manner of calamities are His mercy toward those who are blinded to the truth and deaf to the Gospel.

Our kind and loving Father does not wish for anyone to perish. He is patient and provides many reasons for people to repent. He desires everyone to change their mind about Him and call on Him. He sent Jesus to seek and save and He continues to provide time for people to come around.

As His ambassadors, we find ourselves in the mix of all the evil and calamity this fallen world has to offer. It is our role to allow Him to show through, to bear the fruit He is producing in us. It is our role to suffer yet remain steadfast in trusting His goodness. We get to participate with Him as He calls to those whose hearts and minds are twisted and depraved by the lies of the evil one. We participate by living lives dependent on Him in everything.

This world is hard, but our Father is in control. We are here for a little while. We are with Him for eternity.
