You are Not a Misfit
You are Not a Misfit
If you are like many, you may think that you are not like the others; that you're strange or odd. That you don't fit in.
That sense can be heightened significantly on social media where some appear to be more gifted, more articulate, or more "together."
1 Corinthians 12:12-27 has some very good news for you.
In verse 18, for example, you'll find this (NIV): "God has arranged the parts of the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be."
If you were like everyone else, there wouldn't be a body at all. (verse 19)
In fact, the parts that seem to be weaker are indispensable, according to verse 22.
God chose the weak and foolish things so that no one would mistake His work for ours. (We're all weak and foolish, by the way.)
No matter how things look from a worldly human perspective, He is glorified in you.
You are no accident. You were crafted by Him. (Ephesians 2:10) That includes your proclivities, quirks, and uniqueness.
That's the way of grace. The easy yoke and light burden that lets you be you.
