Tribulation Yields Maturity
Tribulation Yields Maturity
Romans 5:1–5 “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” (NASB 2020)
Difficulty requires that we press on, that we live through adversity.
Pressing on through hard times makes us more compassionate and less judgmental.
Living through extreme difficulty improves our character.
Improvement in our character causes us to see what God has done in maturing us.
When we see that He has caused this growth the fact of our improved character is proven to us.
Knowing that our character has improved gives us hope that we can, and will, become more godly people.
This hope cannot fail because God’s love has been poured all over the soft loving new heart Father gave us.
The love of God within us predisposes us to godliness.
Father has set things up for our success.
