Thoughts on Thankfulness
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NASB 2020) we read, "in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus."
The reason for this is that God is the source of all that is--seen and unseen.
Apart from Him, we would have nothing.
Apart from Him we could not make choices at all.
Apart from Him, we would not exist.
In Him we live and move and exist. (Acts 17:28)
If we do not thank Him, He does not send us calamity or simply squash us like bugs. He is gracious and merciful. Yet, when we recognize who God is and all He has done for us, we find ourselves being thankful.
We who are in Christ come to see that He leads us to make better choices, and that too is a reason for thankfulness.
