You are Full of Grace & Truth

John 1:14 (ESV) says, “…we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

Verse 17 goes on to say, “…grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”

With those words in mind, consider Titus 2:11-14 (ESV)

“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people for his own possession who are zealous for good works.”

The truth is grace, and grace is the truth.

The wonderful truth of grace upon grace (see John 1:16) is what teaches us.

Far from inciting a desire to sin, the truth of grace teaches us

to renounce ungodliness,

to renounce worldly passions—the love of things and the use of people,

to live self-controlled lives,

to live uprightly,

to live… well… godly lives; right here and right now.

Notice too who it is that makes us pure, righteous, holy.

Jesus gave Himself to redeem us from lawlessness and to purify us for Himself.

Because Father has made us righteous at the core, the desire of our hearts is

to act righteously,

to do good works.

He has done all this for us, and we receive it by grace through faith, just as we came to trust in Him. Having received this, we wait (waiting is a state of rest) for our blessed hope, the appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

What a day that will be.

Do not lose hope sisters and brothers.

We are all more than conquerors through the One who lives in us.

He is grace and Truth and you are full of Him.
