Freedom
Freedom
Exodus 14 provides a very comforting picture of how the Lord sets us free.
The enemy (Pharaoh) was unhappy about losing his control over the people who had been his slaves. So he caught up with them at the Red Sea.
The people were very afraid of him and his imposing army. Even so, God had them camp within sight of their enemy.
Then God moved His angel and the pillar of cloud in which He had led His people. He placed them between His chosen ones and the enemy such that the enemy could not attack in the night, but God's people had the light they needed.
The next day, God made a safe passageway through the sea for His people. The enemy followed them.
Just when the enemy was fully committed to his plan, God closed the sea over Pharaoh and his army.
Not one enemy soldier escaped.
God's people were safe.
So it is with you, child of the Most High. The enemy has been completely defeated. He cannot touch you. As Exodus 14:14 says, "The Lord shall fight for you and you shall hold your peace."
Live in this restful truth.
