Ask for Understanding

Jesus went back to the Father so that the Comforter, His Spirit, could be sent to you (John 16:7).
The Spirit guides you into all truth (John 16:13).
The Spirit teaches you (John 14:26, 1 John 2:27).
The Spirit reminds you of the Word of God (John 14:26).

When you read or hear something in Scripture that you don't understand, ask Him about it.

He wants you to know Him--that's eternal life after all (John 17:3).
He wants you to grow in grace (2 Peter 3:18).
He wants you to know the truth that makes you free (John 8:32 & 8:36).

That's the way of grace. Every good and perfect gift is given to you eagerly.
